Wanja Rosenthal is a Brooklyn based guitarist and composer. He graduated his Master’s degree from the City College of New York in 2026. For studying the guitar and jazz composition he has worked with renowned teachers and mentors such as Adam Rogers, Mike Holober, Ingrid Jensen, Steve Wilson and many more. His undergraduate studies in his hometown Vienna (Austria) had a special focus on teaching acoustic guitar and electric guitar in various musical styles. In four years at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Wanja developed a proficiency in various musical styles. Furthermore, he also found his love for modern jazz and improvised music which brought him to New York City, eventually.

Wanja has had over 10 years experience of teaching in diverse forms. His teaching experience has reached a wide range of environments including one on one lessons, leading ensembles, group lessons and band sections. He has taught students of all ages from kindergarteners to mature aged and senior students and believes in taking a unique approach based on the age, personality. Being aware of the specific needs of each student is important for him to create a safe and inclusive learning environment of curiosity, fun, respect and excellence.
